Meet The Staff

The Heartland Men University began in the late 1990s, bringing nearly a thousand men from across the Great Lakes region together for powerful weekends of teaching, worship, and brotherhood. After a brief pause, it relaunched in 2011 and has continued to grow, moving to Lake Williamson in 2015 and finding its new home at Cedar Point Ministries in Indiana in 2024.

“I came to Heartland Men University with low expectations and even lower spiritual grades. By the end of the weekend, I’d somehow leveled up, all thanks to powerful worship, solid teaching, and the best fellowship this side of the snack table. I’m proud to say I left H.M.U with an honorary minor in ‘Not Doing Life Alone.’ Highly recommend.”

Pastoral Care Leadership Lab

Chaplain Bob Hensel

Pastoral Care refers to the support and guidance provided by spiritual leaders, while chaplaincy often involves ministering in specialized settings like ministry in a hospital, police station, military, fire department, disaster scenes, or in the over 30 unique and various forms of chaplaincy Foursquare serves!

For those of us who have been privileged serving, both as pastor and chaplain, one of the early discoveries we encounter is that that ‘Pastoral Care’ has many varying yet complementary differences, especially when seen through the lens’ of a pastor or as a chaplain…perhaps many times as both.
